At least more than 1000 student – applicants have undergone the online qualifying entrance examination for the city scholarship program on July 29 and July 30, 2021.
The examination is open to all residents of Cauayan City enrolling for the first-year college for the Academic Year (AY) 2021-2022 subject for other requirements to submit.
The examination was spearheaded by the City Information and Communications Technology Office covering the City Profile, Grammar, English Comprehension, Filipino, and Mathematics.
The result of the examination will determine whether the applicants can able to join the roster of city scholars in their quest for higher education.
This is now the second year that the examination was conducted online since a public gathering is still prohibited due to pandemic brought by COVID -19.
The City Scholarship Program is one of the programs of Mayor Bernard Dy to help young people of the city to pursue their education as an important tool in their personal and professional development.
To date, there are about 2,110 city scholars benefitting from the program while some had successfully graduated and had their own jobs.
The City Government is now allocating an annual 30 million peso budget for the program.
