PLTCOL  Sherwin F. Cuntapay, a true-blooded Cauayeno is now the new Chief of Police in the city after a turn over ceremony conducted on July 5, 2021 at Parish Pastoral Hall, with the outgoing chief PLTCOL Gerald P. Gamboa.

The ceremony was attended by PCOL James M Cipriano, PPO Isabela Provincial Director, and Mayor Bernard Dy with the City Councilors. Also in attendance are some police officers and other well-wishers following the health protocol scheme.

In his message, the Out-going chief  has profoundly extended his gratefulness to the people of Cauayan especially to Mayor Bernard Dy for accepting and  allowing him to be the Chief of Police in the city and the warmth companionship showed to him while performing his duties  making his station as a recipient of some recognitions in the organization. As he relinquishes his post to the incoming chief of police, his final word was Take Charge!

On his part, PLTCOL Sherwin Cuntapay thanked PLTCOL Gamboa for serving the city, his hometown, and promise to continue whatever the programs implemented. He stressed that his stay in Cauayan  would be more of the PNP’s battle cry on : Pulis na Nakikita, Pulis na Nararamdaman, and Pulis na Nagugustuhan ng Taumbayan.

Meantime, Mayor Bernard Dy welcome the new Chief of Police saying that PLTCOL Cuntapay might be his last Chief of Police as he has only 360 days remaining in his office.

“In my 360 days in my office, I think you will be the last Chief of Police that I’m working with. Rest assured, I want to give you and assure you of my full support in my last 36o days for us to provide a better tomorrow for our Proud Cauayeno citizens and the City of Cauayan. Congratulations!! Remarked Mayor Bernard Dy.

But before his message, Mayor Bernard offers a minute of silent prayer in honor of the member- casualties of  the Phil Airforce of the ill- fated  C-130 plane crashed at Patikul Sulu as he himself a is a PAF reservist officer.
