Empowering women’s capability towards economic sustainability is the city’s response to the needs of marginalize women having been grappling for everyday life’s survival.
Speaking before a number of solo parents in the city during the kick- off program for the Women’s Month celebration, Mayor Bernard Dy gives hope to the group by supporting their livelihood program to uplift their economic status.
The City government through the City Social Welfare and Development Office provided them cash assistance to support their income generating livelihood such as hairdressing, manicure/pedicure, dressmaking, sari-sari store, etc, to augment their daily living.
Mayor Bernard Dy recognizes the effort of these (women) group creating a progressive community without them knowing that they are partners for community building.
Together with the group who were given financial assistance during the said occasion are some drug -surrenderers that undergo community base rehabilitation program.
The Women’s Month Celebration was spearheaded by the LGU-Gender and Development (GAD) carrying the theme: Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!!!
Various programs and activities were offered by the GAD FPS to the community such as giving health and safety kits to government employees, and the Search for Super Juan and Wonder Juana 2021.
