February 6, 2023-In a remarkable demonstration of civic friendship, Cauayan City and San Guillermo, both from the 6th District of Isabela have entered into a sister city/municipality partnership agreement with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This accord lays the foundation for a multifaceted exchange of cultural, and economic benefits between the two communities and the implementation of Solid Waste Management Program.
The signing was spearheaded by the two Local Chief Executives with Mayor Caesar S. Dy, Jr for the City of Cauayan, and Mayor Felipe Guyud Jr. for the Municipality of San Guillermo and were witnessed by their respective City/Municipal Councilors.
Central to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the promotion of bilateral cooperation, with a particular emphasis on the realization of the visionary concept of ‘Metro Cauayan.’ Through the sister city partnership between Cauayan City and San Guillermo, both communities will collaborate on exchange programs for their respective residents, offering them the opportunity to broaden their horizons, gain new perspectives, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for diversity. This will aid in the cultivation of a future generation that is both interconnected and culturally enlightened, one that will help bring the vision of ‘Metro Cauayan’ to fruition.
The sister city partnership serves as a powerful testament to the transformative impact that civic friendship and cooperation can have.
Through collaboration, the two demonstrates that, by working together, communities can overcome differences and build lasting relationships, thus contributing to a brighter future for all.
