Considered as a historic event in the city was happened on March 10, 2021, as the Covid-19 vaccination roll-out has started at City Health Office 2, Barangay Villa Luna Cauayan City Isabela. The ceremonial kick-off was attended by City Officials headed by the Acting City Mayor Leoncio Dalin, Jr together with the 26 frontliner-recipients from RHU 2.

On his message, Hon. Leoncio Dalin expressed his gratitude to Dr. Kristine Puruggunan of City Health Office 2 for her initiative in expediting the request, and to the Department of Health for allocating vaccines in the city . This is regarded as a milestone since this covid vaccines has long been waiting for public health in this times of the global pandemic.

The first frontliner who got the vaccine was Ms Abegail Albano of RH2 detailed at Balay-Silangan quarantine facility.
The following day, it was also the turn of RHU 1 frontliners who got vaccinated simultaneous with other hospitals in the city.
Initially, as of March 9, a total of 852 vials of Sinovac vaccines were given to large hospitals and isolation facilities in the city namely;
- Cauayan District Hospital: 148
- Isabela United Doctors Medical Center: 269
- Cauayan Medical Specialist Hospital: 245
- Dr. Ester R. Garcia Medical Center: 138
- East House Isolation Facility: 26
- Isabela State University Isolation Facility: 26
