The City Government of Cauayan has granted the request for extending financial assistance to the qualified tenants of Primark- Cauayan as a way of helping them ease their financial burden brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier, the group has sent a letter request to the City Mayor Bernard Faustino M. Dy for the possibility of financial assistance to at least pay a portion of their joining fee in the amount of Five Thousand pesos (P5,000) per stall.
The request was given attention and Mayor Bernard Dy requested the assistance of the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) to validate of those tenants renting a stall at Primark because of reports received that some of these tenants were forced to ceased business operations due to heavy financial losses.
As validated by the BPLO, it appears that there is a total of 1,009 stalls for a total amount of Five Million Four Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand pesos (P5,495,000.00) shall be given financial assistance.
As such, the City Council of Cauayan upon receiving the letter recommendation from Mayor Bernard Dy, City Councilor Edgardo A. Atienza Jr, sponsor a resolution granting the request for financial assistance to the qualified tenants of Primark Cauayan in the form of Joining fee subsidy in the amount of 5,000 pesos per stall.
This is in one of the City Government’s coping and addressing to its people on its socio-economic impact on the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On May 20, 2021, the City Officials headed by Acting Mayor Leoncio Dalin Jr, during a meeting with the Primark tenants relayed the good news on the approval made by City Mayor Bernard Dy on granting the request of these tenants.
These tenants are in the process of renewing their five (5) year contract with Primark, and as a requirement, they will have to pay anew a joining fee in the amount of at least sixteen to twenty-five thousand pesos more or less per stall.
