Key personalities of various department of the City Government of Cauayan has convened for a meeting regarding preparation for the forthcoming 2021 Seal of Good Local Government (SGLG) of the Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG).
CLGOO Imelda Aquino informed the body that a big possibility that the screening for the seal will push through on the 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year after it was suspended last year (2020) due to Covid 19 pandemic.
On the other hand, Atty Racma Garcia, the SGLG Focal Person has prepared her team to work hand in hand to meet the criteria set to be able to hold the seal for the 4th time.
CLGOO Aquino explained the criteria or indicators for this year with the new guidelines. From the previous indicators of seven core areas, it was increase to ten areas of governance with the following:
(1) Good Fiscal or Financial Administration or financial sustainability ; (2) Disaster Preparedness; (3) Social Protection and Sensitivity Program; (4) Health Compliance and Responsiveness; (5) Programs for Sustainable Education; (6) Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; (7) Safety, Peace and Order; (8) Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and (10) Youth Development.
The SGLG is implemented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), incentivizing Local Governments to be more transparent and better service for the community.
