Mayor Caesar J. Dy led the LGU Cauayan’s first flag-raising ceremony of the year on January 8 with LGU officials and employees, DepEd officials led by Dr. Gumaru, and Cauayan Water District officers led by Engr. Artemio Quintero.
Before playing the National Anthem, Pastor Jojo Tuazon of the Metropolitan Bible Baptist deliver his invocation for the blessings.
In his speech, Mayor Dy extended his gratitude to his LGU family for the exemplary performance they contributed last year as he began his administration to lead the city, evidenced by the various recognitions had received, primarily the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). Meanwhile, Mayor Dy also gave a warning to erring employees that they would face charges as a consequence of wrongdoings in the performance of their duty.
Highlights during the event were the recognition of Batang Pinoy athletes who represented the city and bagged medals during the recently concluded Batang Pinoy 2022 held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. They were Jethro Medrano, Mark Justine Africano, Jireh Matheuxs Alingog, and Precious Tamayo.
Mr. Shecko Apostol, a proud Cauayeño who made a name for himself as a celebrity artist in the showbiz industry, was also honored.
Another highlight was the awarding of a check to DepEd, represented by Dr. Alfredo B. Gumaru Jr., and the Philippine National Red Cross-Isabela Chapter, represented by Administrator Stephanie Cabrera, as payment to LGU Cauayan for the miscellaneous fees of students in public schools.
