The City Local Government Unit of Cauayan thru GFPS of the City of Cauayan and City Population Office conducted Project GINHAWA (Gabay para kay Itay at Nanay para sa Hinaharap na Asensado sa pamamagitan ng Wastong pag-aagwat at bilang ng mga Anak) at Barangay Cabaruan, Cauayan City, Isabela.
The activity is in line with the celebration of 2024 National Women’s Month, targeting one of the marginalized groups in the community, the 4Ps beneficiaries. It aims to promote development of socio-economic condition thru carefully planning and managing the family thru the use of modern family planning methods and commodities, proper resource management and maximizing government programs being implemented in the City of Cauayan.
The activity was made possible thru the support of our innovative City Mayor, Hon. Caesar S. Dy, Jr. and GAD Focal Person, Ma’am Maria Cristine Ordoñez, Punong Barangay Benjie Dy III, BPWs Maam Sonia Picardal and Maam Elizabeth Valenzuela, CPO Staff, the 4Ps City Links and thru the guidance of our Almighty.

The City Local Government Unit of Cauayan thru GFPS and Population Office of the City of Cauayan continued its implementation of the Project GINHAWA (Gabay para kay Itay at Nanay para sa Hinaharap na Asensado sa pamamagitan ng Wastong pag-aagwat at bilang ng mga Anak) at Barangay San Pablo, Cauayan City, Isabela.
The activity is in line with the celebration of 2024 National Women’s Month, that aims to promote development of socio-economic condition thru carefully planning and managing the family thru the use of modern family planning methods and commodities, proper resource management and maximizing government programs being implemented in the City of Cauayan.
It was indeed a very fruitful session with the 4Ps beneficiaries as they were reminded to continue aiming for a better life, not just for themselves but for the next generations. Some of them were asked to share their experiences and challenges on having more than the desired number of children. Additionally, those who are not yet utilizing modern family planning (MFP) were encouraged to maximize the benefits of MFP.

More family members 🟰 more resources needed
Unplanned pregnancies or having more than the desired number of children and poor resource management are some of the hindrances or delaying factors towards socio-economic development of those belonging to a marginalized group such as the 4Ps beneficiaries.
Project GINHAWA (Gabay para kay Itay at Nanay para sa Hinaharap na Asensado sa pamamagitan ng Wastong pag-aagwat at bilang ng mga Anak) on its 3rd day of implementation was indeed a success!
Almost all the attendees are already utilizing Modern Family Planning (MFP) methods. Seven (7) women of reproductive age who are not yet MFP users were encouraged and were to be referred to their midwife for additional FP services.
Thanks to the barangay officials of Labinab, Cauayan City, Isabela headed by Hon. Juanito Estrada and barangay staff (BPW) Ma’am Fredelyn Palting for the support in today’s activity.
