Reference: Rule 6, Section 7 of the implemenenting Rules and Regulation of RA 10121 that public awareness shall also be undertaken through the conduct of drills by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) on regular basis; and NDRRMC Memorandum No. 21 s. 2022 dated 03 February 2022 regarding the Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) CY 2022.
In line with the celebration of National Women’s Month, The Cauayan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in partnership with the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS), joined the 1st National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on March 10, 2022 by conducting an Earthquake Drill Seminar to women as the target participants for this quarter. Rescue 922 responders also joined the virtual NSED by paracticing the “DUCK, Cover and Hold”. This year’s aim of NSED is to highlight the earthquake preparedness efforts for and by the basic sectors in pursuit of building more resilient communities. A total of 30 parricipants from Cauayan City Green Ladies Organization and PNP womens division attended the said seminar held at the CDRRM office.
