cauayan city ꜱpearheadꜱ the celebration of the girl child week 2024 with the theme “abante, batang babae: labanan ang karahaꜱan”.
Presidential Proclamation No. 759 issued on March 6, 1969 declares the fourth week of March as the Protection and General-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week. It aims to raise awareness and advocacy to promote for equal opportunities and protection of all girls in the country.
Hence, the City Government of Cauayan, through the City Youth Development Office and the GAD Focal Point System, designed an activity for Girl-Children since they should be provided with equal opportunities and adequate protection and to prepare them for their roles in community development.
The event featured a series of engaging topics such as Adolescent Pregnancy which was discussed by Ms. Rouchel V. Pareja, Cauayan City Population Officer and Tips on Basic Self-Defense which was discussed and demonstrated by PSSG Ronald Furuc.
The forum was conducted at SDO Cauayan Function Hall on March 22, 2024 and was participated in by high school girl student-leaders from the various public and private schools in Cauayan City.
